The Longines caliber 505 is a vintage automatic movement with 17 jewels and a beat rate of 19,800 bph. This movement was produced in the 1970s, however, the precise year it was introduced is unconfirmed (perhaps as early as 1969).
Longines 505 VS 501:
The 505 is based on the Longines calibre 501, which the 505 replaced. The major difference between the two is that the 505 has a quickset date that is adjusted by pushing the crown.
Many of the parts are interchangeable between the 505 and 501.
