The Rado caliber R766 is an automatic watch movement with 21 jewels and a frequency of 3.5 Hz (25,200 beats per hour). This movement is basically an ETA caliber A31.111 with a Rado branded rotor. Rado and ETA are both controlled by the Swatch Group conglomerate of watch brands.

Caliber Number/Reference Number:
Although the basic calibre number is R766, Rado appears to use different movement reference numbers depending on the configuration (potentially creating caliber confusion in the watch community).
Some examples include:
- 03.766.111 – 2 hands, date at 6:00, DiaMaster Thinline Automatic (R14067166)
- 03.766.731 – 3 hands, date at 6:00, Anatom Automatic Diamonds (R10201712)
- 03.766.414 – 2 hands, date at 6:00, skeletonized with skeleton datewheel, DiaMaster Thinline (R14067176)
As you can see from the stock images on this page, some R766 movements are signed “CALIBRE R766” on the rotor and some are not. Please post yours in the comments below for comparison.
