Seiko Premier Perpetual Quartz SNQ155 (Add your watch to the comments below…) |
The Seiko caliber 6A32 (6A32A) is a 3-hander quartz movement with a perpetual calendar date system.
Some of the topics covered in this caliber listing:
Perpetual Calendar:
The 6A32 is equipped with a fully automatic perpetual calendar system which means that you do not have to correct the date on months that have 28. 29 or 30 days (leap years, for example).
In Seiko’s own words:
“Once set, the calendar automatically adjusts for odd and even months including February of leap years up to February 28, 2100.” -6A32 User Manual, page 4
Keep in mind that after a battery change, the date may need reset if the watch was stopped for a long period of time.
Important Notes:
- Do not check or make adjustments to the date when the hands are between the hours of 11:00 PM and 1:00 AM.
- Do not pull the crown out to time-setting mode (pulled out two clicks) while the date is changing.
Unlike other watches where hacking the movement can reduce energy consumption and save the battery, when the crown is pulled out on the 6A32, it will actually use more power and shorten the battery life.
