The SII/TMI/Epson/Hattori caliber VD85 (aka VD85A) quartz movement with 0 jewels. It is made in Japan and may be marketed under different division names within the Seiko conglomerate.
This movement calls for an SR626Sw battery with a run time of up to 3 years on a new cell.
There are similar calibers based on the same VD8 series framework:
- VD84 – Small seconds subdial at 6:00; a pointer date subdial at 3:00; a retrograde day of the week indicator at 9:00; 24 hour subdial at 12:00
- VD85 – Small seconds subdial at 6:00; a pointer date subdial at 3:00; a retrograde day of the week indicator at 9:00
- VD86 – Small seconds subdial at 6:00; a pointer date subdial at 2:00; a retrograde day of the week indicator at 10:00
- VD87 – Small seconds subdial at 6:00; a pointer date subdial at 2:00; a retrograde day of the week indicator at 9:00
