The Tissot caliber 744 is a small size automatic movement found in various Tissot ladies watches. This movement is essentially an ETA caliber 2551 and was produced in the 1960s and 1970s (circa 1967~1972?).
Tissot 74X:
The 74X family includes different configurations: All 17.2mm in diameter; all beating at 21,600 bph; all with central seconds. Differences include the height (manual vs automatic) and jewel count.
- 741 – Manual-wind, no date (17 jewels, 3.3mm tall)
- 742 – Manual-wind, date at 3:00 (17 jewels, 3.3mm tall)
- 743 – Automatic, no date (21 jewels, 4.5mm tall)
- 744 – Automatic, date at 3:00 (21 jewels4.5mm tall)
- 745 – Automatic, no date (17 jewels)
Some parts may be interchangeable depending on the calibre, but double checking is required.
