The Seiko caliber 6532A is a vintage quartz movement with 5 jewels. This movement produced in the 1980s, starting around 1982.
Seiko 6532A VS 6532B:
There was an evolution in the caliber 6532 that jumped from 6532A to 6532B. While all of the technical differences are unconfirmed, one difference that stands out is that the 6532B is slightly taller than the 6532A: 2.9mm for the 6532B and 2.7mm for the 6532A (both measurements are without the battery installed). Also, the overall diameter is different with the 6532A being 24mm and the 6532B measuring 25.3mm.
Update: Digging into this further, it looks like while many of the parts between the A and B versions are interchangeable, there are a few parts that are different between the two calibers. The differences are:
- Center wheel and pinion
- Fourth wheel and pinion
- Hour wheel
- Date dial (aka datewheel)
- Battery connector
6532 VS 6533:
Another similar caliber is the Seiko cal. 6533, with the main difference being that the 6533 has a day-date calendar rather than date-only on the 6532. Interestingly, the 6532B (mentioned above) and the 6533 share the same 2.9mm height.
