The ETA caliber 1080 is a vintage mid-size handwound mechanical movement.
In official tech sheets, ETA describes the cal. 1080 as:
“Lever sweep second stop, bevelled edges.”
Sweep second stop refers to what the community now calls hacking seconds.
ETA 1080 VS 1081:
There is a similar calbre 1081 with the main difference being that the 1080 is 10.5”’ (23.7mm diameter) and the 1081 is 11.5”’ (26mm diameter).
The framework is essentially the same with the two movements, however, the 1081 simply has a larger diameter mainplate which extends the size.
