The ETA caliber 956.612 is a Swiss made quartz watch movement with 7 jewels. It is a 3 hand movement with a date. Official tech docs for this caliber were found dated as recent as 1/12.
The image above shows the movement with the battery insulator tab still attached. This insulator is necessary to prevent shorting the battery cell. Below the insulator film is more text as well as access to the stem release button as shown:
