Citizen Calibre 2100 (Ref: AV0060-00A) (Add your watch to the comments below…)

Citizen caliber E210 is a multi-functional, solar-powered, mechaquartz chronograph watch movement with an alarm and power reserve indicator. The E210 has 11 jewels and is made in Japan.

While the caliber number is called E210, the examples found were all marked E210M on the actual movement. If you know more about this, or have a movement that is simply signed “E210” without the M, please discuss it in the comments below. Until further confirmation is gathered,

Caliber E210 VS Calibre 2100:

Citizen has created some caliber confusion in the community with their choice of naming this watch/movement: Calibre 2100 refers to the watch. Caliber E210 refers to the movement.

In Citizen’s own words:

“Truly exceptional in its creation and design, the Calibre 2100 is a watch worth treasuring. With a hand assembled movement, this Limited Edition timepiece features a flyback chronograph, alarm, power reserve up to 8 months, and date. Showcased here with a stainless steel case, handsome black crocodile strap and silver dial. Featuring our Eco-Drive technology – powered by light, any light. Never needs a battery. Caliber number E210.” –Source

Also, the line “never needs a battery” is misleading, see below…

Power Reserve:

The E210 is an Eco-Drive movement, meaning it is solar-powered. As Citizen describes it:

“Powered by any light source, continuously and sustainably, eliminating the need to replace watch batteries.”

This calibre has power reserve of up to 8 months on a full charge. The power reserve can be less than 8 months if you use the alarm often. When the rechargeable battery/capacitor is low on stored energy, the seconds hand will skip. This is a low power indicator and it can function this way for up to seven days before running out of power completely. It is important to not allow your solar-powered watch to drain completely for an extended amount of time, otherwise it may no longer hold adequate charge.

If your watch can no longer be charged, even after long periods of time under the sunlight, then you may need to replace the battery/capacitor. The part number and links are listing above (your purchase supports our work on this site).
