Seiko Credor Signo GMT (Ref: GCBZ999), Seiko Galante (Ref: SBLM003) (Add your watch to the comments below…) |
The Seiko caliber 8L36 (8L36A) is an automatic GMT movement found in various Credor and Galante timepieces dating back to at least 2011. This caliber is part of the 8L family of movements, and as with all 8L calibers it is produced in Seiko’s Shizukuishi Watch Studio in Iwate, Japan.
Accuracy Rating:
Seiko officially claims that the calibre 8L36 is regulated at the factory to an average accuracy of -10 to +15 seconds per day in normal operating conditions.
8L36 VS 8L35:
The 8L36 is essentially the GMT version of the Seiko caliber 8L35. Both calibers share many of the same specs, with exception to the jewel count: The 8L36 has 27 jewels and the 8L35 has 26.
8L36 VS 9S56:
The cal. 9S56 is said to be a Grand Seiko version of the 8L36 (introduced in 2002). That means that while the framework may be similar between the two movements, the level of finishing and factory regulation will have higher standards on the 9SXX compared to the 8LXX. That is not to say that the 8L36 is unfinished.
