The Citizen caliber 8T29 is a quartz solar-powered watch movement.

This calibre has a tri-compax subdial layout that resembles a chronograph watch, however, the subdials are for the calendar and 24 hour time.

When the crown is pulled out two clicks to the time-setting position, the movement enters power saving mode.

There is almost no information about the 8T29, nor are there many examples of an actual watch with this movement (Caliber Corner did not find even one example). If you have a watch with this movement, please post pictures in the comments below or submit movement images here.

The official instruction manual for the 8T29 is signed “Japan CBM Corporation – Watch & Clock Overseas Division”. Japan CBM Corp. is a subsidary of Citizen Watch Co., Ltd. and is a distributor of watches, as well as calculators, LCD screens, printers, TVs, and other electronic devices.

8T29 VS 8T27:

There is a similar cal. 8T27 with the main difference being that the 8T29 has a 3-6-9 subdial layout and the 8T27 has a 6-9-12 subdial layout.

Interesting Note: The 8T27 and 8T29 share the same instruction manual.
