Must de Cartier Tank (Add your watch to the comments below…) |
The Cartier caliber 78-1 is a small size Swiss made movement with 17 jewels from circa 1960s~1970s.
This calibre number is sometimes written as 78/1, however, the movement itself is signed “78-1”.
The example pictured on this page was found in a Must de Cartier ladies Tank watch with a vermeil (gold plated sterling silver) case.
Although different pieces may have different text depending on when it was produced, the example here is signed:
CARTIER INC. / 78-1 / SEVENTEEN 17 JEWELS / UNADJUSTED SWISS / SWISS / ETA shield logo under the balance wheel with 2512-1
Base Movement:
The Cartier 78-1 basically a Cartier branded ETA caliber 2512-1.
