Urwerk Caliber UR-9.01

The Urwerk caliber UR-9.01 is an automatic movement designed in-house by Urwerk Geneve. This movement is found in the Urwerk model UR-110.

Materials and Finish

The materials that make up the caliber UR-9.01 are a brass baseplate and satellite system, as well as ARCAP alloy for the central satellite. ARCAP alloys can contain nickel, copper, cobalt, tin, lead and zinc, but do not have iron so they are anti-magnetic.

The movement features circular graining finish, diamond polishing, chamfered screw heads and polished screw heads.

Unique Indication

The movement tells time via a revolving satellite complication with wandering hour modules mounted on planetary gears. There is a small seconds dial, day night indicator, as well as an “oil change” indicator which notifies the wearer that it is time for an overhaul.

About the Oil Change Indicator in Urwerk’s own words:

“The “Oil Change” indicator alerts the user when a service is due after three years, with the dial changing from white (years one to three) to red (years three to five). This counter is reset to zero when the timepiece is serviced.”
