Servicing a Powermatic 80 Movement

In this series of videos, SolimBD shows his process of how to service a Tissot Powermatic 80 (aka ETA caliber C07.601) automatic movement. the watch being serviced is a Tissot Tradition Powermatic 80 Open Heart (Ref: T063907)

First, have a look at how the Tissot parts department packages and ships a raw replacement Powermatic 80 movement from Switzerland.

Now watch as SolimBD removes the movement from the watch. This video will begin to show the step-by-step process of disassembling and servicing the movement.

Great videos. I did not know the Powermatic can be serviced. Maybe I am thinking of another movement but I thought it’s a disposable movement the Tissot and others just replace when needed.

I think that is the Swissmatic that is the same as the auto movements in Swatch System 51 watches.

If you send it to Swatch they will just replace it for like flat rate of $200 or so. But it can in fact be serviced, just not many places will be willing to do so.

With all my respect, but SolimBD is not doing everything correct.
It is very important to precisely adjust BOTH regulating screws in exactly the same position.
SolimBD ist just turning one screw.
This will result in severe position errors!
