The Seiko caliber 6N53 (also written as 6N53A) is basic 3-hand quartz movement with a day/date calendar complication. This movement is made in Japan.

6N53 vs 6N52:

There is a similar Seiko caliber 6N52. The main difference between these two watch movements is that the 6N53 has a day/date at 3:00 and the 6N52 only has a date.

Are there any technical drawings that include the foot hole locations, for either this or the 6N42 series?

Hi Ryan, Seiko does not provide tech sheets or drawings for their Seiko only calibers. The best way to is to find the corresponding caliber sold for non-Seiko watches and use the technical information from that. Haven’t had a 6N52 or 6N53 powered watch to inspect yet, so haven’t dug into these much. Need to find out if the 6N53 is the same as a VJ53. Do you have a pic of your movement? Hello, posting the pic related to the movement but it’s not in good quality, just to help users choose their watches or maintenance, everything indicates that it’s the same VJ53.
Would it be an alternative to lower the cost compared to the 7n43 movement? thanks Seiko
