Ronda caliber 732 is a 2-hand quartz movement. It is part of Ronda’s slimtech family of watch movements and is considered to be repairable. Technical documentation for the 732 was found as far back as 2005.

Important Note: Unlike most quartz movements which have an energy saving function when the stem is pulled out to time-setting mode with the seconds hand stopped (aka hacked seconds), Ronda specifically states “do not pull stem during storage”.

Ronda Caliber 732 Front And Back

732/1032:

You may see this calibre written as 732/1032 – these are actually two separate caliber numbers. The 732 was discontinued and replaced by the evolution cal. 1032, but since they are interchangeable, some watch parts resellers simply refer to it as 732/1032 or 1032/732, causing caliber confusion.

What is the difference between 732 and 1032?

The main difference between the 732 and 1032 is that the newer 1032 is more efficient. The module has been upgraded and Ronda appears to have recoded it to allow for less power consumption (0.24 uA VS 0.28 uA), which results in a better battery life (~65 months VS ~56 months).

Interesting note: In Ronda marketing materials for the 732 and the 1032, they claim the battery life is “60 months”. However, a deep-dive in the technical documentation revealed the more specific estimates above.

Different components include the module part numbers:

  • 732: 3612.057
  • 1032: 3612.155

As well as the coil part numbers:

  • 732: 3651.023.G.M01 (Swiss Made) / 3651.023.M02 (Swiss Parts)
  • 1032: 3651.024.G.M01 (Swiss Made) / 3651.024.M02 (Swiss Parts)

Swiss Made or Parts:

The 732 is available as Swiss Made or Swiss Parts. Both have seven jewels. The Swiss Made version is gold plated and the Swiss Parts is nickel plated (silver color). As seen above, the coil protection part number is also different.

Functionality and durability is all the same between the two. It’s just a matter of watch brands wanting to pay a little more (dollars? cents?) to be able to label their watches “Swiss Made” or simply “Swiss”.

Changing the Battery:

The battery cover is held in place by a single screw. Remove the screw and the battery cover. The replacement battery is a silver oxide cell number 317 (aka SR516SW).

Make sure the orange insulation tab is intact and in place under the metal prong before putting the new battery in.

Replacement Prices:

At the time of this post, the 732 was found online with prices around $24.95.

Update: As mentioned, the 732 has been discontinued and replaced by the 1032. Prices for the 1032 were found within a similar price range, but it could be difficult to find a genuine Swiss Made (gold) version.
