Some of the topics covered in this caliber listing:

Citizen 9011 VS Miyota 9015:

The Citizen caliber 9011 is essentially the Citizen only version of the Miyota caliber 9015 (similar to how the Seiko caliber 4R35 is the Seiko-only version of the SII/TMI NH35A).

At least cosmetically, one major difference between the two calibers is that the rotor on the 9011 is cutout style with a unique design, compared to the Miyota version with the standard solid Miyota rotor.

This also means that most parts should be interchangeable, but a list of such parts has not been confirmed. If you have experience with using Miyota 9015 parts to service a Citizen 9011, please share with the CC community in the comments below…

Accuracy:

Citizen claims the accuracy of the caliber 9011 to be within -10 ~ +30 seconds per day in normal operating temperatures between normal temperatures of +5C to +35C (41F to 95F).  Citizen states an operating temperate range -10C to +60C (14F to 140F), but anything outside of the “normal” range may cause a noticeable change in timekeeping.

Keeping the mainspring fully wound (maximum power reserve) will ensure a better accuracy experience. In Citizen’s own words:

“Full winding of the mainspring ensures the most stable and accurate movement of mechanical watches.” -Official instruction manual, see additional resources below

Power Reserve:

The Citizen 9011 has a power reserve of about 42 hours. To wind the mainspring fully by hand, turn the crown about 40 times. You cannot overwind this movement.

Replacement Prices:

Citizen 9011 movements are not available for individual sale or for sale to non-Citizen watch brands. Therefore, there is no replacement price to quote. However, if you are in need of a replacement movement you may be able to find a used watch with this movement, or a watch for parts or repair to get the parts you need from it. Also, since the Citizen 9011 is basically the Miyota 9XXX framework, you may be able to get the parts you need from a Miyota caliber 9015.
