Hi all, I just got my new ultra sonic cleaner and the instructions aren't clear so I'm hoping I can learn something from the pros here.
It's a small machine. I got some powder solution too.
What I want to know is can I use regular tap water in it? Do I have to use distilled or filtered?
How long should I set the timer?
What temperature should it be at?
The instructions say it has to be grounded does that mean use a real 3 prong outlet with the plug and not a 3 to 2 adapter? Other than the 3 prong plug there isn't anywhere for a grounding wire that I can see.
Anything else I need to know?
Thanks!
What are you cleaning? Give it a shot with pre warmed water and something basic. Tap water works. Regular three prong outlet. Something easy. your wives jewelry or Try your sunglasses and you will be surprised, give it a shot for one min, then increase the time.
Thanks for the reply. I'm going to start with just the bracelet then work into movement parts. I'll use the tap water as you suggested.
For the watch movement stuff, is there a recommendation for time and temperature or stick with warmed tap water for one minute?
I am not sure about your cleaner, are they all the same?

Cleaner is magic green and the machine has a heater and timer on it.
Again, I am not sure what machine you have. I have two and use them both regularly for stuff even other than watch stuff. I am not sure what you are cleaning so I hesitate to give you any answers. simple green is a good cleaner but what does your machine manufacturer recommend. That would be a good place to start.
