Hi everyone! Welcome to the new Caliber Corner forums! The world's most popular watch movement database/wiki is taking the movement community to the next level. Before the CC forums existed, members could only discuss calibers that were already listed on the site. With this new feature, you can ask questions and start discussions about every watch movement under the sun!
What inspired the creation of this message board was not only that we're getting inundated with emails and social media DMs with questions and requests, but the tipping point was when a large watch forum banned the Caliber Corner account as a "spammer" after trying to help answer a question. Caliber Corner was not welcomed to become a valuable part of their forums, so here we are with our own, seeking to become the biggest and best watch community focused on watch movements, watchmaking, repairs, mods and more.
If you're here, it's because you have a thirst for learning about how things work and a craving for daily watch knowledge. You know there is so much more to a watch than the face or the brand name. You know the soul of the watch is the movement within. If you're here it's because you're a bonafide watch geek (whether you're comfortable admitting it or not) who acknowledges that there is an unlimited abundance of information and something new to learn every day. Caliber Corner was created for that reason, we've been learning with you as we build the site, and we wanted to share that growing wealth of knowledge with watch enthusiasts around the world. The forums will magnify that philosophy as all of our collective knowledge expands beyond the vast resource of watch movement information, stats, opinions and experience. Now, the discussion truly begins.
Although Caliber Corner has always been centered around the movements that make our tiny machines tick, everything about a watch develops outward from there. The movement sets the stage and everything else builds upon it. For that reason, we recognized that Caliber Corner is not only about the history and specs of the movement in your timepiece, but also servicing, modifications, and the overall design and maintenance of the watch itself. None of those elements would be possible without the proper tools and equipment, as well as knowing how to use them. This community deep dives inside watches, how they are made and how they work.
So, Caliber Corner fam, we welcome you to participate in the CC forums and join us in our mission to spread movement awareness! Keep learning and keep your gears turning!
Sincerely,
CC Founder/Admin
