The S. Epson caliber AL35 is an ultra affordable 3-hander analog quartz movement with zero jewels. The AL35 is part of S. Epson/TMI’s “Slim” line of movements.

This caliber has been discontinued, although you should still be able to find new old stock movements from watch parts suppliers. The AL35 is interchangeable with the S. Epson caliber Y121.

AL35 A/B/C:

You may see different versions of the AL35X, indicated by a trailing letter on the caliber number: AL35A, AL35B, AL35C, AL35D, AL35E, AL35F. These typically indicate evolutionary (or other) changes in the movement design (or origin), with the most recent version being AL35F as of August 7, 2020.

Country of Origin:

As with most Seiko produced movements, most listings will state Japan is the country or origin. This may be true for some of the movements based on the tech drawing at the top of this page. However, according to official TMI tech sheets for the AL35E (dated July 17, 2009), there are AL35 movements stamped China:
