PTS Resources caliber Z2031 (Shandong Liaocheng Zhong Tai Watch Company?) is a semi-skeletonized automatic watch movement with 22 jewels and a frequency of 3 Hz (21,600 beats per hour). This caliber is made in China. There is a similar caliber Z2032.
Some of the topics covered in this caliber listing:
Functions:
The Z2031 is a multi-function automatic movement with an open balance wheel at 6:00, second time zone (dual time) subdial at 9:00 and a day/night (sun/moon) indicator at 12:00.
How to set the dual time?
The dual time subdial is a true second time zone indicator and is set independently by turning the crown backwards in time setting mode. When you turn the main time backwards, the dual time hands will also move. When the dual time subdial is set to the desired time, you can then proceed to move the main hands forward to the correct time.
How to set the moonphase?
There is no moonphase on this movement. It is a day/night indicator aka sun/moon indicator.
How to set the day/night indicator?
The day/night indicator follows the time set on the central hours/minutes. In other words, it is set automatically depending on the main time and cannot be set independently.
Double Barrel:
The PTS caliber Z2031 features double barrels (two mainsprings). Although this is a feature used to get more power reserve out of a watch movement, PTS Resources does not list the power reserve in their tech information.
