057 VS 157:
This movement is also similar to the Cartier caliber 157 seen here, the only difference is that the 157 is round and this caliber 057 is an oval/tonneau shape.
Replacement Prices:
At the time of this post, replacement prices were found online in the area of $200-$250 USD.
Ebel X Cartier:
You may also see this quartz movement listed as an Ebel 057. This is because Ebel and Cartier were part of a joint venture known as Compagnie Ebel Cartier (CEC), based in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Since 1972, Ebel had been producing watches for Cartier until the two companies formed CEC in the early 90s. Despite the high quality finishing compared to other quartz, they were produced with cost efficiency in mind and not as High Accuracy Quartz (HAQ) calibers.
Although many quartz movements have crossover caliber numbers with ETA, the Cartier 057 has nothing to do with ETA and does not have an ETA equivalent.
