Citizen Caliber B035

The Citizen caliber B035 is a small ladies watch sized solar-powered quartz movement. It has a 3-hand analog time display with no date.

Charging Time:

The charging time on your solar powered Citizen B035 watch depends on the light source you use to charge your watch. Outdoors on a sunny day will get you the a full charge the fastest. If you choose to charge your watch outdoors in the sunlight or on a windowsill, make sure the temperature on your watch does not get too hot. It can damage the solar cell on the movement or even warp the dial (seen it happen before).

According to Citizen, 1 to 2 minutes of pure sunlight outdoors will power your watch for 1 day. to fully charge your watch, it will take up to 11 hours of sunlight. In cloudy weather, it will take up to 60 hours to charge.

Many people think of charging their Eco-Drive watches with indoor fluorescent lighting. Yes, it is possible, but the amount of time it takes to fully charge the B035 is 190 hours when 20cm away from a 30W lamp.

Power Reserve:

Once your watch is fully charged, it should run for up to 7 months without needing to be charged again. Of course, if it’s consistently exposed to light, then the full charge period will seem longer. That is because you’re still feeding it more energy as it runs down. The 7 month quote would be more relevant to usage in a dark area.

Low Power Indicator:

The cal. B035 is equipped with a low power indicator. When this kicks on, the seconds hack will skip, ticking in two second increments. When this starts to happen on your watch, it is a warning that your watch will run out of power within about 4 days.

After your watch loses it’s power and becomes recharged, the seconds hand may still appear to be acting erratically. This is a notice that you need to reset the time on the watch. Once you set the time and push the crown back in, the seconds should go back to normal 1 second intervals.
