This thread is like the workbench version of MTV Cribs. Show us your watchmaking setup!
I use the same desk as I use for tying flies. Since that desk is full of fly tying stuff at the moment I will skip the pics. All of my watch tools reside in cardboard boxs on a couple of shelves on the desk when not in use. My fly tying desk has a nice adjustable arm magnifying lamp that doubles quite nicely as a watch working set up. Both uses have very similar requirements so they interchange easily and work quite well for both things. I fish with very small flies, and watch movements obviously have small parts, so they are far more similar things to do than most would think I believe. Interested in seeing how others do it.
Very nice, what type of magnifier do you use?, can you make videos with this setup?
hi Pamoh
i use a AmScope SM-3 Series Trinocular Stereo Microscope, i could make videos with this setup but i need a better camera as the one i have at the moment is not very good at adjusting to the light conditions and seems to have no dynamic range
Holding right now. I have a backlog of tasks and need to slow down and work harder on those tasks. I typically "invest" in new tools when required to accomplish a task. I am currently having some issues with opening up cases, both new and old watches and that is a stopping point. That red instrument on my bench was a cheap tool that was supposed to help but it is trash as delivered. I need to modify it before I move further. I have a vintage omega that has a free hand. I kinda runs but it is a front loader and I need to get at the dial side to reattach the hand and then move forward if required,
