The Timex caliber 02N is a Miyota 8 series (aka 8000 series) automatic movement with 21 jewels. This movement is made in Japan.
In the brand’s own words:
“Ticking inside is a tried and true 21 jewel automatic movement with an exhibition case back, creating a contemporary timepiece that honors our watchmaking history. Powered by your motion, the movement has a 40-hour power reserve and can also be hand-wound with the crown.” –Source
Timex does not offer much information about this movement on their product pages, only “Watch Movement: 02N” and that it has 21 jewels. Luckily they were good enough to leave the Miyota Co. and Japan markings on the rotor so that the community wouldn’t be left guessing.
Accuracy Rating:
Since the 02N movement is based on a Miyota cal. 8215, the community can base most of the specs and ratings from that. Therefore, the 02N should have an average accuracy of at least -20 to + 40 seconds per day.
Power Reserve:
While Miyota officially claims that the base 8215 is capable of up to 42 hours of power reserve, Timex is more conservative in their marketing materials, quoting an expected runtime of 40 hours.
