The Seiko caliber 7T32 (7T32A, 7T32B) is a quartz chronograph movement with an alarm. This calibre has two crowns (3:00 and 4:00) and three buttons (2:00, 8:00, and 10:00) on the sides.
The alarm on the 7T32 chimes every 12 hours and it accurate to within +/- 1 minute.
Service Note: The 7T32 is interchangeable with the S. Epson caliber YM52.
Removing the crown/stem:
If you need to get your movement out of its case, you will need to extract the crown and stem – actually there are 2 crowns/stems on the 7T32 (time-setting and alarm-setting).
To extract the time-setting stem at 3:00, first pull the crown out one click to date setting mode. Then look for the hole nearest the stem, with an arrow pointing to it and text reading “PUSH”. Gently place your tweezers or another suitable tool in the hole and remove the crown/stem.
To extract the alarm-setting stem at 4:00, pull out the crown one click. Then, look for a similar hole with an arrow and “PUSH” next to it and follow the same instructions above.
Service Note: The stem for the crown at 3:00 and 4:00 are interchangeable, although the crowns may not be.
Resetting the Chrono to Zero:
After a new battery or All Clear reset, you may need to recalibrate the chronograph hands to zero.
- Pull the time-setting crown out two clicks to time-setting mode.
- To reset the main chronograph seconds hand, press the button at 10:00 until it gets to zero or 12:00.
- To reset the chronograph minutes subdial, press the button at 2:00 until the hand gets to zero.
You can hold the buttons in the move the hands automatically.
