The PTS Resources caliber JHLS-15 (JLHS15) is a double barrel automatic movement with dual balance wheels. The balance wheels are exposed to look like a tourbillon movement – or “Imitate Dual Tourbillon” as PTS Resources calls it.
PTS Resources has officially spelled this caliber as JHLS 15 and JHLS15 without a space. The version with a space or dash seems more common.
While the original introduction and production timeline of this movement is unconfirmed, we do know that this caliber was in production since at least 2017, and available throughout 2020.
The JHLS-15 is the brand’s Mechanical Series line of movements which they describe as:
“Extreme craftsmanship of watch movement”
How to set the time/date:
The JHLS15 only has two crown positions: neutral or against the case (position 0) and pulled out one click to time-setting mode (position 1).
To set the time, pull the crown out one click and adjust the hands accordingly.
To set the date, look for the pusher on the side of the case near the 2:00 area. Press the button with your tool to advance the date. It is generally advisable not to attempt changing the date while the hands are between the hours of 8:00PM and 2:00AM.
To set the moonphase indicator, there is a pusher on the side of the case near 10:00. Press the button with your tool to advance the phase of the moon.
Similar Calibers:
There are similar calibres in the JHLS series that feature the same double balance at 6:00, but with different configurations elsewhere on the dial.
- JHLS-02 – No complication at 12:00
- JHLS-32 – Power reserve indicator at 12:00
- JHLS-33 – Offset hours and minutes at 12:00 instead of in the center
