Konstantin Chaykin Levitas Moon Phases (Add your watch to the comments below…) |
The Konstantin Chaykin caliber KMR 02-0 (now K.02-0) is a mechanical “mystery” watch movement that was introduced at Baselworld 2012, when Konstantin Chaykin was set up in the AHCI booth.
How it Works:
The hands on the “mystery” watch appear to float the middle of a transparent dial with no evidence of anything to hold them in place. This magical illusion is made possible thanks to two sapphire discs which connects the hands to the drive train.
In Konstantin Chaykin’s own words:
“The round metal cap with the logo in the center of the transparent dial conceals a miniature motion work – the secret of Konstantin Chaykin’s ‘mysterious’ time display system, in which a single rotating sapphire disc drives two hands.”
