Hi all,
Â
I am a newbie to the watch world and embarking on my first build project, so please excuse any errors or shortcomings in my request.
Â
I need your expert advice on a Seiko 5 7009-8950 build. Can anyone recommend the movement required for this.
Â
Please note the stem is at the 4 o'clock position.
Â
The back of the case states -
Serial Number: 3022597
Movement Number: 7009
Case Number: 8950
Â
Pictures are attached for reference. Look forward to your comments.
Â
Thnx.
Hi, your best bet may be to source a replacement 7009 movement. Using a different caliber in the 7009 case is not as straightforward as many would wish for it to be. You can learn more about interchangeability on the Seiko caliber 7009A page. Please be sure to update this thread with what you end up doing with it.
Thank you for your reply, really appreciate it. This gives me a lot to go on, and I will report back on my progress in due course.

I am not sure where you purchased those pieces ? Â Case, etc but that might be be the best place to source the movement.Â
