Ingersoll automatic caliber IN 419. This movement was found in an Ingersoll Bison No. 38 model. Chinese-made with 20 jewels. Ingersoll claims this movement should stay accurate between -30 tp +30 seconds per day when worn under normal conditions.

This si actually a hangzhou 2196 caliber

This page and Ingersoll says it’s the Ingersoll 419 caliber. Maybe it’s a HZ 2196 base movement, but if Hangzhou made it for Ingersoll then they shouldn’t try to claim the credit. That’s going to be the problem with Chinese watch manufacturers, they are suddenly going to start trying to take all the credit away from everyone who has hired them to manufacturer stuff, then they are going to try to build up their own brands.

Ingersoll doesn’t design or manufacture watch movements. All they do is take existing Chinese calibers and add their branding. Occasionally, they also get the manufacturer to add some additional finishing or decoration. Then Ingersoll merely assigns these movements an “Ingersoll Caliber” number/designation. Invicta may use a semi-custom rotor on the Seiko/TMI NH35A movements they use in many of their automatic watches, but they don’t try to claim that they are “Invicta calibers”.

HZ2189 – the 2196 has a dial plate that would obscure the balance wheel, and is multi-function with 3 sub-dials(Date, 24 Hours, Day of Week).

This is actually the Hangzhou HZ2189 (Base Caliber). The only change is the addition of “Bison N° 38”, badly printed on the rotor.

The Hangzhou HZ2196 is not engraved, and has three eyes for Date, Day and 24-Hours.

All Hangzhou 2xxx series movements were derived from the Seiko 7009A.

I have the Bison no. 38; this is the Seagull-manufactured top notch caliber ST-19 and no other.

This is a 40 hours power reserve watch caliber.

In the real world it may last 40 hours, but it is rated at 36+ hours.

Base caliber is the Hangzhou 2189, which was derived from the Seiko 7009A.

I have a Ingersoll The New Haven Automatic watch, but the movement not working, I would like replace this movement. It use the hz2189 caliber according to the manual. ¿it’s correct this? ¿It can be replace with other caliber? Help me with these questions? Thanks.

This is the movement in my Stührling Original skeleton – which says ‘Automatic Cal-St-90089’ etched into the case back crystal…
No hacking. Mechanical wind capable.
Same exact ‘etching’ on movement as shown here.
